Energize with Sunrise Tai Chi

Let the sun shine in! Master-teacher Ramel Rones gently guides you through the morning with a series of powerful mind/body exercises that awaken the senses, stimulate the mind, and fill your body and spirit with abundant energy.

The simplified, short Yang-style Sunrise Tai Chi sequence is practiced to both the left and right to help you develop symmetry and balance. Tai chi chuan has been known for centuries to promote deep relaxation, excellent health, and to prevent injuries and illness. These easy movements will stretch and strengthen your body, and improve your circulation of oxygen and qi energy.

The program also teaches you to find balance between strength and flexibility, increase bone density, and massage the internal organs, improving your quality of life and daily physical performance.

• Select your choice of short, medium, or long workouts and choice of music.

• Revitalize your health and well being with mind/body exercise, meditation, stretching, and strengthening techniques.

• Apply core principles of tai chi, qigong, and yoga together for a holistic workout.

This tai chi form is used as a mind/body intervention at Tufts Medical School to improve general health and specifically to prevent and treat osteoarthritis of the knee, its side effects and symptoms, as published in The BMJ (British Medical Journal), as well as for chronic pain/fibromyalgia prevention and treatment as published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Master-teacher Ramel Rones has witnessed first hand the profound long-term benefits of tai chi and qigong practice. Since 1989 he has been working to improve the lives of cancer and arthritis patients. He is a scientific consultant on mind/body therapies at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and Tufts School of Medicine, as well as co-author of numerous scientific publications. He is the author of Tai Chi P.M. Practice and Tai Chi Energy Patterns (YMAA).
